Prime Minister will award the Gold Medals on Sheikh Russell Day
Animation lab, programming training, incubation center, launching of 4 software and 5 smart e-services including animation lab, Sheikh Russell Day will be celebrated nationally for the third time simultaneously in Bangladesh embassies abroad on Wednesday. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the main program of the day at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) at 10 am with the theme song ‘শেখ রাসেল দীপ্তিময়, নির্ভীক নির্মল দুর্জয়’ (Sheikh Russell Radiant, daring, pure and indomitable) written by children. She will present Sheikh Russell Medal-2023 and Smart Bangladesh Award 2023 at the same event. Besides, 12 awards will be given at national level and 12 more awards at district level in general and technical fields at public and private levels.
At the same time, 10 winners participating in the Sheikh Russell Online Quiz Competition 2023 will be given Core i-7, 11 generation laptops as prizes. Moreover, the award will be given nationally in following categories: Education, Science and Technology, Sports, Children and Adolescents with Special Needs, Arts and Culture, Young Programmers, Young Innovators, Young Writers, Digital School, Digital Excellence. A total of 11 children and adolescents will receive the Sheikh Russell Medal 2023. The medals will weigh 11.66 grams of gold.
This information was given in a press conference held at the BCC conference center at the ICT Directorate on Tuesday. Mostafa Kamal, Director General of ICT Directorate gave a welcome speech at the press conference. Barrister Jahangir Hossain Roni, Organizing Secretary of Sheikh Russell Jatiya Shishu Kishore Parishad, spoke as a special guest. Md. Shamsul Arefin, Secretary of ICT Division presided over the press conference.
ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak briefed about the day at the press conference. While speaking as the chief guest, he said, I feel Sheikh Russell when I see my younger son Anirban. This year he is in 10th year. So there is apprehension. However, even if truth and falsehood are temporarily hidden, the celebration of Sheikh Russell Day represents the victory of truth. To highlight that fact, the three-dimensional film 'Russell Sona' will be screened for all, including the underprivileged children.
The State Minister said that on the occasion of the day, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the Sheikh Russell Animation Lab at Dhaka University's Faculty of Fine Arts and will hand over certificates to Python programming training for 27,000 students of 300 Sheikh Russell School of Future, 36,020 teachers trained at Sheikh Russell Digital Lab, 7 Sheikh Kamal IT training and Incubation Centre, training for 25,125 women in 130 Upazilas under Her Project. She also will inaugurate the accurate, public opinion, conversion and u-board software, smart 333, smart pregnancy monitoring system, smart e-trade license, students' collective assessment app Noipunya, integrated e-toll collection Seba ' Ekpas ', toll free helpline Seba 13219 through Cyber TIN to prevent juvenile cybercrime and will inaugurate 3 University Innovation Hubs.
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stones of 10,000 Sheikh Russell Digital Labs, 300 Robotics Corners at Sheikh Russell School of Future, 3 Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Centers, 555 Joy Smart Service Innovation Centers, ICT Directorate 2041 Smart Towers and 7 University Innovation Hubs. .
It was informed in the press conference that various ministries and organizations will pay their respects by laying wreaths on the portrait of Sheikh Russell at the beginning of the day on the occasion. A joint initiative of Directorate of ICT and Sheikh Russell National Children's Youth Council will pay tribute by placing wreaths at the portrait of Sheikh Russell at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center. A colorful rally will be held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center premises in the joint initiative of ICT Directorate and Sheikh Russell Jatiyo Shishu Kishore Parishad.
On the other hand, at the division, district and Upazila levels of the country, wreath-laying and rally have been organized in Sheikh Russell's portrait. Live broadcast of the main program, organization of meetings/seminars including painting, composition, presentation preparation, and Best Sheikh Russell Digital Lab selection competition is organized.
Sheikh Russell Jatiyo Shishu Kishore Parishad will hold various programs by organizing painting, chess, football, cultural and shooting.
The logo of National Sheikh Russell Day was inaugurated through singing the national anthem by pressing the flip button at the press conference.
